Le Chateau de Bonaguil

This morning we visited the castle at Bonaguil. It is a ruin now, but man how it must have looked in the 1300s!

I said to Molly as we toured the grounds, "I am so happy I didn't live in medieval times. Life in a castle would have been so dark and cold and damp." "But not if you're the princess!" Molly replied. "Yeah," I said. "But there were only a few of those and every else was a servant."

I am positive I would have been born a serf had I lived 700 years ago.
